MEET LILYANNE MILLER: her obedience led to her best yes.
What led you to want to serve internationally?
The thing that led me to serve was how many people don't know about Jesus. They don't even have the opportunity to hear about Him. The Bible tells us to go, and if I can have a part in the Great Commission, I won't stop going until I physically cannot.
What was one fear you had about going on a mission trip, and how did you overcome it?
One of my biggest fears about going was being anxious when I was there. Whenever I was younger, I would miss my parents so much, I wouldn't be able to focus on what I was there for. I just went. I prayed about it and just went. I knew God was going to have my back.
What have you learned about yourself through serving others?
One thing that I have learned about myself while serving others has been that I can do anything that I need to be able to serve others because of Christ. He led me to do things that I would have never been able to do without him.
How do you hope your service will make a difference?
I hope that me going on mission trips will result in more people coming to know Christ. At the end of the day, that is why I go.
What’s one thing you wish everyone knew about serving others?
I wish people knew that serving others is more rewarding for you than it is for the people you are serving. While you are helping people, they are helping you. I have left my mission trips learning so much about myself and how I can further my walk with Christ.
