November is national adoption month, and this year we're helping another family bring their adoptive child home! You would be amazed what happens when you combine T-shirts, social media and the power of someone's story.
Thanks for your interest in our Adopt With FTN Campaign! Over the past seven years, we've successfully funded seven adoptions during our adoption campaign. This year, we're committed to supporting yet another adoption, and it could be yours!
Adopt with FTN is a story-telling campaign with two purposes: to help fund adoptions and to help increase awareness during National Adoption Month. The final stage of this contest is a massive social media and word-of-mouth campaign where your supporters "vote" by purchasing a limited edition T-shirt that brings awareness to the cause of adoption and funds one all at the same time! The family who has sold the most shirts when the campaign closes will have their adoption fully funded.
WHO CAN APPLY?
All families who are in the process of an adoption. The adoption can be domestic or international but should be in progress (please don’t apply if your child is already home). All families applying should have a current home study and be working through an accredited adoption agency.
We are looking to help cover adoption expenses for one family up to a total of $30,000. (PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THAT THE AMOUNT OF MONEY WE ARE ABLE TO GIVE COMPLETELY DEPENDS ON THE NUMBER OF SHIRTS SOLD THIS MONTH AS PART OF THE CAMPAIGN.)
APPLICATION DEADLINE
All applications must be completed and submitted no later than 11:59 p.m. (CST), on October 21st, 2024. The 25 semi-finalists will be notified by 5:00 p.m., on October 25, 2024.
CONTEST SCHEDULE (all times in CST)
October 10, 12:00 noon: Applications Open
October 21, 11:59 p.m.: Application Deadline
October 25: top 25 semi-finalists announced
November 5, 11:59 p.m.: video entries due from top 25 semi-finalists
November 12: Top 10 finalists will be contacted. *
November 13: Top ten finalists will be announced to the public & shirt sales will be opened
November 20: Campaign ends (shirt sales will close promptly at 11:59 p.m. on Nov. 20)
November 21: The top 10 families will be contacted and the 1st place family will be announced to the public.
*In order to move forward as a top ten family, you will be required to attend a MANDATORY ZOOM CALL beginning at 6:30 p.m. (CST) on Tuesday, November 12. Unfortunately, if you are unable to attend the ZOOM call, your spot will assigned to the next family in line.
WHAT IF I BECOME A SEMIFINALIST?
All semi-finalists will be asked to submit a 3-5 minute video sharing their adoption story. It doesn’t have to be professionally made, but keep in mind that this is all we will have to get a feel for your hearts and personalities, so the more your video ‘feels’ like your family, the better. Some things to include in your video: your names, why you felt led to adopt, and a little about your adoption (Domestically or internationally? Have you been matched yet? Boy or girl? Age of your child? How long have you been waiting? Any special needs? Etc.). Watch this video from a previous winner, Amanda Cobb!
WHAT IF I BECOME A TOP TEN FINALIST?
Once the top ten families are announced, we will begin selling our 2024 Adopt With FTN campaign shirt on our website. People will have the opportunity to purchase a shirt in support of the top ten family of their choosing. Each shirt sold equals one vote for that family. Our hope is to fully fund the family who receives the most votes and to provide the other nine families with some financial assistance to help with their adoption expenses! Please keep in mind that our ability to give financially is fully dependent upon how many shirts are sold as a part of the campaign, so sharing is key! We will share some ideas of how to best do this on the ZOOM call.
